In their Serie A season opener against Torino, AC Milan debuted a special patch on their shirts to honour club legend Franco Baresi, who passed away in July at the age of 66.

The commemorative patch features the message “6 per sempre” (“No. 6 forever”), referencing Baresi's iconic shirt number, which was permanently retired by the Rossoneri. Each character was selected from thousands of handwritten messages left by supporters following his passing.

Worn on the left sleeve, the patch will feature on the shirts of Milan's men's team, women's team and youth teams throughout the 2026/27 season. A beautiful and deeply personal tribute to one of the greatest figures in the club's history.

Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito experienced a bizarre kit mishap during the Nerazzurri's 26-27 Serie A opener against AC Monza at San Siro. In an unbelievable stroke of bad luck, the digit '9' suffered the exact same issue shortly after the swap, leaving the striker with only the '4' hanging on his back and prompting a second jersey change in the same match. The issue was reportedly caused by improper heat application during the heat-pressing process by the team's kit staff.

Despite the distraction and having to swap shirts twice, Esposito enjoyed a stellar display on the pitch, scoring Inter's third goal with a clever backheel flick and setting up Yann Bisseck for the fourth in a 4-1 victory. However, the striker made his frustration clear during post-match interviews with DAZN, stating that having to change jerseys twice due to numbering issues was unacceptable at this level.

AS Roma have achieved a unique piece of football history by becoming the first club to have every squad number from 1 to 99 worn at least once. Because the red jersey used the standard circular Napoli crest, pairing it with either of the 26-27 white shorts would have caused a clash of emblems on the same uniform.

Rather than producing a third set of white change shorts solely to carry the standard badge, Napoli simply reused their plain white match shorts from 25-26.
